About the Author

I write historical fiction and contemporary drama inspired by courage, resilience, and the strength people find in one another during difficult times. My debut novel, Brothers, opens against the backdrop of the First World War and South Africa's turbulent Rand Revolt — a story where lives shaped by conflict become intertwined with love, loyalty, and survival.

Although history has always fascinated me, I am equally drawn to the deeply human stories that connect us across generations and places. My contemporary writing — including stories set in the fictional town of Darien, Montana — has been shaped in part by my travels and the places connected to my family. My wife and I have three grown children scattered across South Africa, America, and New Zealand, and I have always loved exploring the history, landscapes, and character of the countries we visit. Those experiences find their way into the settings and stories I create.

"I am also a black belt in Funakoshi karate — a discipline that taught me patience and

perseverance long before I sat down to write a novel."

Now retired and living on the South Coast of KwaZulu-Natal with my wife of 39 years, I spend my time reading, writing, listening to music, and researching remarkable figures from history.

Thank you to everyone supporting this new chapter in my life. I look forward to sharing the journey with you.
